Concussions
& Vision Training

Concussions and vision

An individual’s eyes and brain must all work together to navigate the world and it’s this connection that makes up your functional vision. 90% of all concussions result in eye movement dysfunctions. Even mild concussions can result in post trauma vision syndrome.

Post-concussion symptoms

  • Double vision

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Poor balance and coordination

  • Decreased peripheral awareness

  • Headaches

  • Decreased visual tracking and focusing

How to help?

Vision training can help athlete’s regain their normal visual function and return back to their baseline. No two concussions are the same and the symptoms and severity of each case can vary. We take a special approach to address the needs of each individual athlete. We customize each session and overall program to provide the best care for every individual.

Concussion Prevention

Additionally, research suggests that vision training can be a preventative tool and can reduce the risk for concussions. SVT is designed to help athletes see, react and play faster. If players are able to see the play faster and have better overall awareness, they can place themselves in better positions to receive and/or avoid hits altogether.
